Do you want to leave a tip? These days that’s a question you might feel like you’re being asked all the time.
Tipping trends was the topic of discussion during the What’s The Buzz segment on “Live In The D” Monday. Host Tati Amare and guest host Jasen Magic were joined by comedian J Will and Mary Liz Curtin, who is the owner of Leon & Lulu and Three Cats Restaurant in Clawson.
“If I’m not sitting, I’m not tipping,” Mary Liz said.
“If I’m standing in line, getting my own food, fighting people for my own table, cleaning my own table, I’m going to tip myself,” she said.
However, Mary Liz explained that if she sits down and the food is brought to her, she will tip 20% and up, depending on the quality of the service.
Meanwhile, J Will said that his dad taught him to always give 20% for tips.
Mary Liz shared that her favorite people to tip are housekeepers at hotels.
