It’s Easter weekend and if you’re looking for some fun happenings, there’s plenty going on in and around Detroit.
First up, Cranbrook Academy of Art and Cranbrook Art Museum will host its Open Studios event for the season. At this annual event, visitors will be able to explore private studio spaces, purchase graduate students’ art, take self-guided tours of Cranbrook House and Gardens, enjoy food trucks and more. The event is happening Saturday from 1p.m. until 5 p.m. in Bloomfield Hills.
Spring Art continues to bloom. The 3rd annual Spring Art Open Studios - presented by the 40 West Howard Artists Guild - will feature 4 floors of art. Guests can visit artists working in their studios, enjoy live music, wine and snacks, and a wood fired pizza truck. It’s happening Saturday 1p.m. until 7p.m. at the 40 West Howard Street Studios.
This is the final weekend to check out Canterbury’s “Eggstravaganza.” The event will have something for the entire family, like lawn games, a petting zoo, magic shows, food, and of course - the helicopter egg drop. There will also be monster truck rides. The fun happens Friday and Saturday in Lake Orion. Advance tickets are required.
In Wayne County, kiddos will get the chance to collect sweet treats on Friday. The annual marshmallow drop will take place at Elizabeth Park in Trenton at 9 a.m. and a sensory drop will be held at Nankin Mills Park in Westland at 11 a.m. The kids will be able to redeem the marshmallows for prizes.
