“The cleanliness of our air ducts are really important for both your health and cleanliness of the home, and we often refer to them as the lungs of your house,” said Dave Mechem with Modernistic.
He explained that over time, dirt, debris, and allergens build up in your air ducts and when you turn on your furnace everything circulates, which affects the air you breathe.
The air duct cleaning process includes attaching a vacuum hose to the furnace. Mechem explained that technicians also go to each vent in your home to clean them using compressed air.
Mechem said it’s recommended to have your air ducts cleaned every two to five years, but more often if you have a busy household, multiple pets, or suffer from allergies.
