Memorial Day is just around the corner, and that might mean celebrating with traditions like a barbeque or a get together at a certain family member’s home. However, do you feel like people are losing traditions?
Traditions, or rather breaking traditions, was the topic for What’s The Buzz on “Live In The D” Monday morning. Host Tati Amare and guest host Lauren Crocker were joined in conversation by comedian Mike Bonner, executive director of Outlier Media Orlando Bailey, and Gwen Jimmere who is the CEO of Naturalicious.
“We’re the new uncles and aunties. We have to do it,” Orlando said, explaining that it’s the next generation’s time to make the traditions happen.
“It’s so valuable to keep those traditions going,” Mike said.
Gwen said she doesn’t feel we’re losing tradition. She joked that she’s pulling up to the barbeque.
The group also shared the traditions that they keep with their family or friends.
“I gather my family every Christmas Eve, and I host and I cook everything,” Orlando said.
Gwen said that she hosts Thanksgiving every year. Gwen also mentioned that she and her son created a Museum Week tradition where they visit a different museum each day.
