The Powerball jackpot rose to the sixth largest in U.S. history after no tickets matched the winning numbers drawn Wednesday.
As of Thursday, Dec. 28, the Powerball jackpot was at $760 million, marking the third-largest jackpot this year and the sixth-biggest in the nation’s history, according to Powerball. This jackpot has grown since Oct. 11, when the last Powerball jackpot -- coming in at $1.76 billion -- was won by a player in California. It was the second-largest Powerball jackpot ever won.
The latest jackpot will likely continue to grow leading up to the next drawing on Saturday, Dec. 30 -- the last Powerball drawing of 2023. No player matched the wining Powerball numbers drawn on Wednesday, Dec. 27.
