WARREN, Mich. – Two Warren police officers were injured Thursday when they were involved in a chase which ended in a crash near 11 Mile and Dequindre roads.
Warren Mayor Jim Fouts said the officers were chasing bank robbery suspects. One of the patrol vehicles rolled during the crash, injuring two officers. The car was turned over.
The officers suffered non-life-threatening injuries. One of the officers was on his last shift of duty before retirement.
Fouts said it was a short chase.
There were two bank robbery attempts Thursday morning in Warren and one successful bank robbery in Sterling Heights, the mayor said.
Two suspects and a bystander also were hurt. Both suspects are being treated for injuries at a hospital and are in custody.
The bystander suffered minor injuries.
