Men Arrested With Trunk Full Of Stolen Cheese

2 Accused Of Stealing From Warren Food Company

Al Moy, the operations manager for Lipari Foods in Warren, said edible items have been disappearing in a rash thefts in the past couple of months.

In addition to the recent cheese theft, Moy said salamis, turkey breasts, chickens and pies have been stolen.

Warren Police Detective Robert Eidt said a break in the cheese thefts came when a tip came in that two men were unloading several boxes of cheese from a semi-truck into a Cadillac. Eidt said Calvin and Kevan Cooper were arrested with more than 40 boxes of cheese. Eidt said it hasn't been determined if the two are responsible for the theft of the other store's items, or just the cheese.

"I am suspect that they are taking the items to disreputable business owners that will buy stolen property at a reduced rate and still charge the same amount in their stores," Eidt said.
