Brawl breaks out at Detroit's MotorCity Casino Hotel

Man captures fight at casino on iPhone

DETROIT โ€“ A wild scene was caught on camera inside MotorCity Casino Hotel.

Gary Felton, of Palmer Park, recorded a brawl early Friday morning on his iPhone involving a group of women inside the casino's Grand River Deli.

"At first you didn't realize all of the girls were arguing or if they even knew each other but then there was a fight here, here and here. It happened so fast," said Felton.

Felton said he had finished eating at another casino restaurant when he walked by the Grand River Deli and felt the tension in the air.

"It was about to escalate. You could almost tell. The energy was growing," Felton said.

There were close to a dozen women, ages 20 to 30 years old, throwing not only fists, but anything they could get their hands on.

"Next thing you know you see napkin holders flying, salt and pepper shakers, even shoes," Felton said.

At one point, the video shows women standing on table tops and jumping over chairs. Several security guards moved in and attempted to break up the fight. It is not clear if anyone was arrested.

MotorCity Casino released this statement:

"This is a highly unusual, very isolated incident. The individuals responsible for this situation have been permanently banned from our property. In addition to a strong on-site presence of Michigan State Police and Detroit Police Department personnel, the Michigan Gaming Control Board maintains a 24/7 presence at our property, and we employ nearly 200 security officers. We will continue to be vigilant in our efforts to prevent such conduct, and we intend to explore all possible legal remedies against the perpetrators."

The three-minute fight has received more than 14,000 views on Felton's YouTube page. Watch the entire fight here.
