LIVONIA, Mich. – Police say the man responsible for the double murder-suicide on April 4 in Livonia was 19-year-old Brian Douglas White.
White entered the home owned by his ex-girlfriend's mother near 5 Mile and Inkster roads. Police say he first killed the mother using an ax, then moved onto his ex-girlfriend's bedroom where he killed her boyfriend, 19-year-old Jacob Burns.
The 17-year-old girl witnessed the attack on Burns and called police. Police have released the chilling 911 call.
Caller: There has been a murder-suicide and there are no survivors. Please send help.
At the time, she did not know her mother already had been killed in the home and that her lifeless body was in the next room.
911 dispatcher: What's going on? What's going on?
Caller: My ex-boyfriend broke into my house and killed my current boyfriend and then killed himself.
Caller: He kind of beat me up so ... and my parents aren't home and it's just me. I'm 17.
911 dispatcher: Where are the weapons right now? Where's the gun?
Caller: The gun ... the ax is in Jake's head and the gun is in Brian's hand.
Caller: I just want to get these bodies out of my house.
911 dispatcher: OK. We are on the way.
911 dispatcher: There's nobody else in there, correct?
Caller: Correct. I can call my dad. He works at 6 and Haggerty. He can be home in 10 minutes and my mom doesn't have a cellphone so I don't know how to get a hold of her. She doesn't have a job. She got picked up by a friend this morning.
Police say the witness helped greatly in the investigation.
