DETROIT – A family is looking for justice after 23-year-old John Pippen was found fatally wounded in an apartment on Detroit's east side.
"We all miss Jay very much, he was a hard working man, doing his best to live life for his son," said Kari Barrown, John's girlfriend.
On Jan. 24, Pippen's body was found in the 5000 block of E. Outer Driven ear Conner Street and State Fair.
The murder is still unsolved, but police said they are looking for a person of interest.
"His name is Anthony Jones, if you see him he has a very distinct look," said Leann King, Pippen's cousin. "One of his eyes are different, almost looks closed, if you see this man, please, please call Crime stoppers."
"He didn't wake up that morning and say it's my time to go, somebody made that choice for him," said King.
Pippen attended Hazel Park High School and was a full time employee at Lube Express located in Warren.
Pippen also created music beats and participated in rap shows in his spare time. He leaves behind his four-year-old son, Jamar.
