HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Call it Willow Point Bay instead of Willow Point Mobile Home Park in Harrison Township. When mother nature poured her heart on Metro Detroit last night, this is where some of the heart ache landed.
The mobile homes are elevated and few have belongings beneath the skirting. But what about the cars? They were waist deep water in some cases. In the shallow parts the water came up mid-way on the wheel wells. Those at the low end of the mobile home park just west of I-94 were stranded.
Even slow moving vehicles created a wake - a wake on Morgan Road - not Morgan Lake
Residents say flooding in the area happens a lot.
The water will recede, but not without creating plenty of nuisance.
