ROSEVILLE, Mich. – A preliminary hearing was underway Wednesday in Roseville for a Detroit man charged in an armed robbery and shooting.
Prosecutors say Robert Tillman was one of two masked gunman who tried to rob the Coin Cove Coin and Jewelry shop in the summer of 2011. The owner of the shop exchanged gunfire with the would-be robbers inside the crowded store.

No one was injured in the shootout and nothing was taken from the store.
Officers from Roseville, Eastpointe and St. Clair Shores did an immediate search of the area for the gunmen, but didn't find them.
Tillman was arrested in April after his DNA was found on clothing recovered outside the store.
