Man accused in stabbing, leading deputies on chase through Monroe County

FRENCHTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 20-year-old man could be charged after stabbing another man and leading authorities on a chase early Monday morning in Monroe County.

The Sheriff's Office said a 25-year-old man was found stabbed just after 2 a.m. on the porch of his home in the Frenchtown Villa manufactured homes community in Frenchtown Township.

The suspect who allegedly stabbed him took off in a Ford Escape and deputies chased him southbound on I-75 to North Dixie Highway, where he sped through several neighborhoods, the Sheriff's Office said.

The suspect made it through a line of stop sticks but crashed into a sheriff's patrol car as he was getting back on I-75 from Newport Road.

He was arrested and is being held at the Monroe County Jail.
