The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. used the Parisian name under a license from Belk, Inc. from which they bought the stores in 2006.  The license for that name expires at the end of the month.

"We believe the conversion will be seamless for our customers, as we are merely changing the store nameplate to Carson's.  Our Parisian customers in the Detroit area will find our outstanding merchandise offerings and our commitment to providing excellent service remain unchanged," said Brendan Hoffman, President and Chief Executive Officer.
The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. operates 273 stores in 24 states.

According to the company,  the stores offer a broad variety of national and private brand fashion apparel and accessories for women, men and children, as well as cosmetics and home furnishings.
