DETROIT – The company that runs photography services inside two major retailers is closing its studios across the country.

The St. Louis-based company CPI Corp. managed Sears Portraits Studios and the PictureMe Portrait studios inside Walmart stores.

A statement on the Sears Portraits Studios website said, :"After many years of providing family portrait photography, we are sad to announce our Sears Portrait Studios are now closed. We appreciate your patronage and allowing us to capture your precious memories."

The company also said anyone who has an album or recently had a portrait session can order their products at searsphotos.com thru April 18.

There are studio locations in Lincoln Park, Troy and Livonia.

A spokesperson for Walmart released a statement that said, "CPI informed us of their decision to close their photo studios in Walmart stores. We are currently working to ensure customers receive the orders that they have placed."
