NOVI, Mich. – Firefighters responded to a fire Friday afternoon at the Orotex Corporation building on Venture Drive just north of 9 Mile Road between Meadowbrook and Novi roads in Novi.
Smoke was seeping out of the building but no flames were visible from Sky 4.

Novi Police Chief David Malloy said there was a machine explosion inside the building that sprayed hydraulic fluid. One person was taken to Botsford Hospital for smoke inhalation.
The chief said the building's fire suppression system worked and extinguished the fire.
Firefighters were helping to ventilate the building.
