DETROIT – Madison Heights police on Monday will begin their investigation into a criminal complaint that has been filed against Detroit City Council President Charles Pugh over allegations he had an inappropriate relationship with a teenage boy.
The complaint alleges that Pugh had inappropriate contact with a student while in the city of Madison Heights
The complaint was filed Saturday by a Detroit mother who says Pugh bought her 17-year-old son clothes, gave him cash, took him off campus and bought him a cellphone, which has alleged text messages from Pugh on it.
The alleged behavior happened between May 29-31 while Pugh was a mentor at Detroit Public Schools' Douglass Academy.

Sources told Local 4 Madison Heights is where Pugh may have taken the teen on a shopping trip.
Pugh spotted in Seattle
Pugh seemingly abandoned his role on City Council last month, not showing up to meetings, answering calls and deleting his social media profiles.
Because of his absence, Detroit Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr has stripped him of his power and pay.

But a Local 4 viewer who was on vacation in Seattle snapped a picture of Pugh at a coffee shop.
On Saturday, Local 4 has confirmed Pugh had a room at The Grand Hyatt Hotel while in Seattle.
