WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. – A foundation has been established in memory of two siblings who died following a tubing crash on Sylvan Lake.

Alexander, 11, and Gabrielle, 6, Mansour were struck by a boat while riding in an inner tube on July 14. The children were being pulled by their father who was driving a jet ski. Another boater crossed their path, striking the tube. They died as a result of the crash.

Their 10-year-old sister, Adriana, was also hit and remains hospitalized.

The Mansour Foundation will benefit the West Bloomfield Schools that the siblings attended and planned to attend -- Gretchko and Scotch Elementary and Abbot Middle School.

After the accident, the Oakland County Sheriff's Department decided to bring back marine patrols on Sylvan Lake which previously had been stopped due to budget constraints.

Contributions to the foundation can be made through the Alexander and Gabrielle Mansour Memorial Fund.

On behalf of the family, I would like to thank everyone in the Metro Detroit area, across the nation and around the world for all of your thoughts and prayers in support of our family.

We would like thank the thousands of families and friends who attended the memorial services of Alexander and Gabrielle and also thank those that sent flowers and cards and prayed for us. God bless all of you for all the prayers and support.

Please continue your prayers for our family and beautiful 10 year old angel Adriana. She is in stable condition and we continue to see signs of improvement.
