Bomb squad reports to home on Rossini Drive after man says it was wired with explosives

DETROITThe Detroit Police Department Bomb Squad has found no threat at a home on the city's east side after a former homeowner claimed to have rigged it with explosions.

Police said Joel Suminksi was set to be sentenced Tuesday in connection with a pipe bomb that was found last May in a home in the 15200 Rossini Drive. However, on Tuesday, Suminski told the court the home on Rossini Drive was wired with explosives.

The Bomb Squad investigated the home and found no explosives.

Suminski doesn't currently live in the home, but another family who does was evacuated.
