DETROIT – The 41st annual SOCK (Support Our Capuchin Kitchen) dinner will be held Friday, October 11, 6-9 PM at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center. Considered by many to be one of the largest fundraising events in Detroit, this year's dinner will be chaired and hosted by world renowned artist and metro Detroit native, Dominic Pangborn. Tickets are $250 per person and include dinner, cocktails, musical entertainment, and the After Glow event. Last year, the SOCK event's gross revenue was over one million dollars.
Second Helping After Glow: The 6th Annual Second Helping After Glow will take place Friday, October 11th, 9 pm -12:30 am at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center. Tickets are $50 per person and include two free drink tickets, parking, desserts, coffee bar, live entertainment, and dancing. The Second Helping After Glow event is geared to Detroit's young professionals and those who enjoy dancing and fun!

Capuchin Soup Kitchen programs include:
Capuchin Services Center—Each weekday 13,634 pounds of emergency and supplemental food packages are distributed to an average of 170 families/individuals. 1,548 articles of clothing are also distributed each weekday along with 11 appliances.
Earthworks Urban Farm—An organic garden on a two and a half acre plot, Earthworks yields 14,000 pounds of produce each year.
On the Rise Bakery—Men who are re-entering society after incarceration or substance abuse learn baking skills and leadership abilities through the residential program.
Rosa Parks Art Studio and Children's Library—Children receive tutoring services and art therapy/creativity sessions in a safe environment in the hope of breaking the cycle of poverty.
Jefferson House-A 9 month extended residential treatment program for indigent men to reclaim their lives from addiction. Those completing the program have a recovery rate of nearly 65% after four years.
Meal program—Typically 2,000 meals are served. Shower program, case management services, GED training are also available.
