Michigan State Police bomb squad investigate suspicious package at Detroit People Mover station

Service restored; No injuries reported

DETROIT – The Detroit People Mover was briefly shut down Monday morning because of a bomb scare.

The Michigan State Police bomb squad was called to an area near the Time Square station on the report of a suspicious package around 9:30 a.m.

Grand River Avenue between Cass and Washington was also cleared for the investigation.

The area was deemed safe and service resumed at 11 a.m.
