Priya Mann was born and raised near Toronto, Canada and knew from an early age that she wanted to be a reporter.
Priya graduated from Brock University with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications and completed a Post Graduate Diploma from Humber College in Advanced Journalism.

She began her career as a volunteer reporter for Rogers Television Peel, in Mississauga.
In 2008, her first job took her out West, to CFJC News in Kamloops, British Columbia. She worked as a videojournalist – shooting, writing and editing her own stories.
Priya won a prestigious RTDNA award for her story ‘Remembering Afghanistan'. The feature story profiled a soldier who had recently returned to Canada after serving overseas.
A year later, she moved to Windsor Ontario, and lived on the riverfront overlooking the Detroit skyline.
As a videojournalist for CTV Windsor, she covered a number of stories including the North International American Auto Show in Detroit.
Priya was promoted to CTV London in 2010, where she also became a backup anchor and weather specialist.
In 2011 Priya was the first television reporter on the ground in Goderich Ontario, covering the aftermath of a F-3 tornado.
In 2012, Priya moved up the 401 to work as a videojouranlist for CTV Kitchener. She worked as a video journalist, anchor and occasionally filled in for weather.
In 2013, Priya was thrilled to become a part of Detroit's number one station WDIV-Local 4.
Priya's parents and brother live in North Carolina and she has a lot of family in Chicago.
She is passionate about connecting with people and sharing their stories.
Priya is a dedicated vegetarian, loves to read, do yoga and watch documentaries.
She has a cockapoo named Zen – who is not yet inspired by his name.
