Harrison Township students win the House App Challenge

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Students at the Macomb Academy of Arts & Sciences became the first ever winners of the House App Challenge with their app "Bakround Noise."

Amanda Fulghum, Brendan Mantey, Davanna White, and Krista Wylin were the winning team.

Their concept meshed the best aspects of different media streaming programs like Pandora and Netflix with a tagging system and other features allowing more control over the music they wanted to play. 

Rep. Candice Miller personally congratulated the winners for their accomplishments and commended their teachers, like Christina Vrzovski, and mentors, like Jesse Vollmar, for their encouragement. 

The House App Challenge aims to spark students' creativity and get them involved in science, technology, engineering, and math. It is a national program that has students create and showcase their apps.
