DETROIT – A Detroit man accused of killing his soon-to-be-stepfather, who was also a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, was arraigned Thursday on a murder charge.

Antonio James Hicks, 19, allegedly shot Johnny Clyburn, 41, Tuesday morning during an argument at a home on Woodhall Street. A stray bullet also hit Hicks' mother, Nicolina Pace.
Clyburn was killed. Pace is recovering.
Pace and Clyburn were engaged. Family members told Local 4 Clyburn had recently taken Hicks in.
Hicks fled from police for more than hour until he was taken into custody. He's charged with first-degree murder, assault with intent to murder and felony firearm.
Clyburn, a 21-year Air Force veteran, was a member of the 127th Security Forces Squadron at Selfridge Air National Guard Base.
