HOLLY, Mich. – The Michigan Renaissance Festival is in full force late in August. Here is an overview of everything you need to know about the festival.

About: The Michigan Renaissance Festival gives you a chance to travel back to the 16th century with the sights and sounds of a 17-acre village. The village includes building reproductions of 16th-century shops, homes and castles.
Entertainment is provided on 17 themed stages, including jousting, comedy, theatre, music, games and rides.
There is also food from more than 300 artisans.
History: The festival has brought more than 250,000 visitors to Holly, Michigan for 36 years. It began in Clarkston in 1979.
