Wayne State University closes main campus during power outage

DETROIT – Wayne State University closed its main campus Tuesday afternoon following a massive power outage.

Evening classes and events are also canceled.

A major cable failure on the Detroit Public Lighting Department's grid cause the outage at 10:30 a.m. that affected several government buildings, traffic lights, museums and other buildings.

Detroit Public Schools dismissed students early, too.
