PLYMOUTH, Mich. – A 15-year-old Plymouth Township girl and her 23-year-old boyfriend will stand trial for an alleged plot to murder the teen's family.
Roksana Sikorski and Michael Rivera face seven charges including assault with intent to murder and conspiracy to commit premeditated murder. Judge Michael Gerou bound them both over to trial on Thursday inside Plymouth's 35th District Court. Sikorski was bound over as an adult despite her counsel's request she be charged as a juvenile.
"I believe there is probable cause to bind over both defendants on all seven charges," said Gerou. "There's probable cause to believe that the crimes were committed and there's probable cause to believe that each of the defendants committed this crime."
Prosecutors say Sikorski stabbed her 12-year-old brother in their Plymouth Township home on Oct. 17 and tried to stab her younger sister. According to Sikorski and the prosecution, Rivera was outside the house sending text messages to instruct how to fatally stab her brother.
Judge Gerou said evidence shows the cut to the boy's neck could have been fatal. The boy was treated at a hospital and released. He testified in court Thursday.
Both Sikorski and Rivera are being held on $1 million bonds. Their next court date is Feb. 12.
