Randy Slinglend, 31, of Ubly, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer and struck an Amish buggy driven by 42-year-old Eli Miller. Slinglend was attempting to pass the buggy when he lost control on ice and slid into the buggy, the sheriff's office said.

The buggy was extensively damaged; however, no one was injured in the accident. The horse had minor cuts, but is expected to be fine.

According to deputies, alcohol was not a factor. Drivers are reminded to slow down and drive according to road conditions.
