DETROIT – A 39-year-old woman was killed her 7-year-old daughter seriously hurt Monday morning when the car they were in crashed into a tree on Detroit's east side.
The crash happened just after 7 a.m. on Canyon Street near East Warren Avenue.
Police said the woman, identified by a family member to Local 4 as Karen Jacinda Treadwell Ross, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her daughter, Kaylin Ross, is in critical condition at St. John Hospital.
Police said they are looking into whether the woman had a medical emergency before the crash.
