DETROIT – Authorities confirm a 14-year-old girl was killed and a 15-year-old girl was injured after they were hit by a minivan while crossing the street in Detroit.
DPD says the 15-year-old girl is currently in critical condition at the hospital.
The two girls ran across the street to get ice cream, authorities said. They were crossing 8 Mile Road near Evergreen when they were hit by the minivan.
The girls are Henry Ford High School students.
The driver of the minivan stopped after the incident. DPD is on scene investigating.
