YORK TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Michigan State Police say an 83-year-old Novi woman was killed Wednesday in a crash that involved two cars and two semi trucks on US-23 near Willis Road in York Township.
All lanes of southbound US-23 have reopened to traffic at Willis Road after being closed for hours after the crash.

Police say a semi truck driven by a 39-year-old man from Columbus, Ohio was traveling southbound on US-23 when it his a black Chevy Impala, sending it off the roadway. The semi then hit a white Toyota Corolla from behind, pushing it into a second semi truck, driven by a 56-year-old man from Titusville, Pennsylvania.
The Impala, Corolla and second semi truck were all stopped on the highway due to a construction backup.
The 83-year-old woman was in the passenger seat of the Corolla. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The 63-year-old Novi woman driving the Corolla was taken to St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Impala, a 70-year-old woman from Ypsilanti, was taken to the University of Michigan Hospital with non-life threatening conditions. Her passenger, a 72-year-old Ypsilanti man, was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Neither semi truck driver was injured in the crash.
Alcohol was not believed to have been a factor.

Traffic was backed up for hours as vehicles were directed off the highway at Willis Road.
