MONROE, Mich. – The trial has been set for the stepfather of a murdered Eastern Michigan University student.
James Turnquist is charged with child pornography. Last week, the judge handling the case declared a mistrial which gave Turnquist's defense team time to review documents not previously released by the Ypsilanti Police Department.
The police department believed the documents could reveal crucial information in the death of Turnquist's stepdaughter, Julia Niswender. He is a person of interest in her 2012 murder.
Turnquist's child pornography trial will start Sept. 21.
