DETROIT – Two Detroit police officers and a 84-year-old woman were injured Tuesday night in a two-car crash at Livernois Avenue and Curtis Street on the city's west side, according to authorities.
Police say the squad car was responding to a call when it ran into the woman's red minivan in the intersection. The squad car had its lights and siren on at the time of the crash, police say.
The minivan was hit from the side, causing it to roll after the collision. It landed on its side in the street. Police used jaws of life to cut the woman free from the minivan.
Authorities all three women were taken to Grace Hospital and are listed in temporary serious condition. They are expected to be okay.
