DETROIT – A 25-year-old man was shot and killed early Monday morning during a break-in at his home on Detroit's west side.
Police said a woman called 911 around 3:45 a.m. to report the break-in at the home in the 5800 block of Vancourt Street, which is near Warren and McGraw avenues.
Seven people - four adults and three children - were home at the time of the break-in.
Police said only the 25-year-old was shot. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Family members on the scene have identified him as Darrin Wyatt. They said his 3-year-old daughter was one of the children who were home during the break-in.
