Loop Roller Coaster opens at C.J. Barrymore's

Roller coaster was assembled on-site during fall, winter

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The brand new Loop Roller Coaster at C.J. Barrymore’s is officially up and running.

The idea to bring a coaster to the family entertainment complex off of Hall Road is more than 10 years in the making.

"We saved this spot back here for 10 years, looked at it, studied it," owner Rick Iceberg said. "Now that it’s here, we’re excited it’s finally done."

Iceberg bought the roller coaster from New Jersey, brought it back here in trucks, and it was assembled on-site this fall and winter.

In all, the coaster takes you up 36 feet, drops you down twice and includes a loop, hence the name.

The new attraction has definitely caused some buzz.

"It looks fun, I would definitely try it," Katie Blake of Armada said.

"Cedar Point is kind of a drive, it’s nice to have something like this close by," Aaron Walkowski, of Armada, said.

The Loop is just part of a $5 million, five-year expansion of the complex. Iceberg said to expect even more twists and turns in the years to come.

"We have a zip line going in next and a new elevated go-cart track," he said.

You must be at least 50 inches tall to ride it with an adult, you must be 56 inches tall to ride it alone.

The cost of one ride is $7.50.

This summer, Barrymore’s will have a Facebook contest to rename the coaster, after a lot of people have gotten the chance to ride it.
