The Michigan State University logo has been ranked the best in all of college sports.
The ranking, by Athlon Sports, has Texas at No. 2 and Virginia at No. 3

According to Athlon, the Spartan helmet silhouette is best because it's everything yu want in a logo: Striking but understated, strong but subtle and "just all-around awesome."
Michigan State finished a two-year evaluation of its identity and brand in 2010, and decided then to emphasize its classic Spartan head as the university's sole logo.
The logo isn't the only Michigan State symbol to receive a high ranking this year. Sparty was ranked the best mascot in the Big Ten earlier this year.
In the logo ranking, Michigan's Block M, was listed at No. 25
