LINCOLN PARK, Mich. – A car chase with Wyandotte police ended Monday when a driver nearly crashed his car into Dix Coney Island in Lincoln Park.
The driver crashed his car into the pole holding up the restaurant's sign at the corner of Fort Street and Capitol Avenue. Witnesses said the car flipped on its side and caught on fire after hitting the pole.
One person was killed in the crash, police sources said.
Wyandotte police pulled a man out of the burning car, witnesses said. The man was kicking and screaming when police pulled him out, so they had to use a stun gun to arrest him, witnesses said.
Cellphone video from Robert Gabriel shows the scene:
Wyandotte police didn't say why they were chasing the car.
