DETROIT – Family members of Martinus Wilson are seeking help from the community to find those responsible for shooting and killing Wilson and his friend.Â
The two were shot and killed about 3:15 a.m. June 15 on Rohns Street on Detroit’s east side. According to police, Wilson was driving a coworker home after a shift at Applebee’s. They met up with their friend Nathan Mosby. The three were sitting in Mosby’s car when they were attacked.Â
Authorities said two suspects approached the parked car on Rohns Street and began shooting. Wilson and Mosby were shot and killed and the passenger was injured.Â
As an aspiring medical engineer, 20-year-old Wilson was studying graphic design at The Institute of Arts in Troy. He worked two jobs and signed his first apartment lease in Warren two days prior the incident. Â
Wilson's family said he was proud of being able to support himself with money he earned through hard work. The family is pleading to the community for help identifying the suspects.Â
Anyone with information pertaining to the suspects is asked to call 800-SPEAK-UP or to submit an anonymous tip at www.1800speakup.org.
Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,500 reward to anyone who has information pertaining to the suspects; $1,000 will be added to the award if a tip that leads to an arrest is received by midnight. Â Â
