Brittany Tyeisha-Monique Garrett charged in double fatal crash

DETROIT – Brittany Tyeisha-Monique Garrett, 25, was sentenced Monday in a connection with a Detroit car crash that left two people dead.

Garrett was allegedly driving west on Chalfonte Street May 29 when police said she ran through a stop sign at Greenfield Road, causing a crash with another car.

The impact of the crash caused the other car to swerve onto the sidewalk, hitting a man in a wheelchair, police said.

Both the driver of the second car and the man in the wheelchair were killed in the collision.
