DETROIT – Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert noted a trend among the NBA's 30 franchises on Tuesday after the Detroit Pistons announced they would play in Downtown Detroit next season.

The Pistons were the final NBA franchise to play outside of the urban core that they represented. Next season, all NBA teams will play in their home cities -- something no other North American professional league can claim.
And Detroit may not be done, if Gilbert has his way. He's hoping to build a soccer stadium to attract a MLS team to the D some day.
