Mayor Fouts strikes back at officials in Macomb County with accusations of conspiracy, cover-up

WARREN, Mich. – Mayor Jim Fouts struck back against officials in Macomb County on Tuesday with accusations of conspiracy and an environmental cover-up.

In a letter to Sterling Heights Mayor Michael Taylor, Fouts discusses an illegal dumping operation at Freedom Hill and the effects it has had on the surrounding area.

“Clearly, the City of Sterling Heights and the county executive conspired on an environmental cover-up to protect the illegal dumping allowed as a special favor to a contractor.”

In the letter, Fouts calls Taylor and Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel the “pollution cover-up tag team.”

Fouts also took to Facebook, calling the Taylor and Hackel a “tandom (sic) team."  Fouts hinted at a possible scandal in a Facebook post Thursday which had residents on edge and prompting Hackel to hold a news conference.
