Crews battle fire in auto repair shop in Redford Township

REDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A fire broke out in an auto repair shop Wednesday morning in Redford Township.

The fire started at Walsh's repair shop on 7 Mile Road, near Beech Daly Road.

According to a neighboring business, the shop was fully engulfed in flames.

Fire Chief Scott Demoff said workers were draining a gas tank when the fumes caught fire.

No injuries were reported.

In March 2015, a woman's car was stolen from the parking lot of the shop while she was inside. Her two children were in the vehicle sleeping in the backseat. The children were later reunited with their mother.
