DETROIT – Police are still trying to find the people who left a 62-year-old man beaten nearly to death in a street on Detroit's west side.
Good Samaritans found the man lying on Fenkell Avenue near Cruise Street.
"Somebody attacked a man here on Fenkell and Cruise," Tamara Smith said Jan. 3 on a Facebook Live post. "I don't know who's family it is. We called the police."
Smith and others called 911 after finding the man around 9 p.m. beaten and bloodied in the middle of Fenkell Avenue, just west of Schaeffer.
"He's saying help him, this is crazy," Smith said.
Detroit police arrived to help the man, but the case is still a mystery.
When officers spoke to the man, they realized he had been hit so hard he didn't know what had happened to him or who it was who attacked him.
Smith went on Facebook Live at the scene, hoping a member of the man's family would see it.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detroit police.
