31-year-old woman found fatally shot July 30 along Fish Lake Road

No description found

ROSE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Alexandra Brueger was jogging July 30, 2016 along Fish Lake Road in Rose Township when she was shot and left for dead on the side of the road.

The 31-year-old Holly Township woman's homicide case has gone cold since. However, there is a renewed effort to track down the person who did this. Crime Stoppers of Michigan hopes by putting this case back in the headlines somebody, anyone, might remember something from that day which could help catch Brueger's killer.

Brueger was an avid jogger who frequently the same route along Fish Lake Road on which she was found killed about 2:30 p.m. on a Saturday. Her friends said they have no idea why someone would kill the 31-year-old registered nurse.

Her murder remains a mystery 7 months later. She was gunned down in the middle of the day on a dirt country road, but no one saw anything, at least not anything that has helped investigators figure out who killed Brueger.

On Tuesday, Crime Stoppers announced a new reward -- up to $7,500 for information. They are hoping a tip might connect some dots and provide answers for Brueger's family.

From Crime Stoppers:

Alex was a graduate of Holly High School.  She was the editor of the school newspaper.  Alex was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church of Holly.  She attended Baker College of Flint to become a Registered Nurse.  Alex was in the process of earning a Masters’ degree in Fine Arts and a Doctorate in Creative Writing.  She started her nursing career with Hurley Hospital in Flint and later worked at Providence Park Hospital in Novi.

Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering a cash reward of up to $7,500 for information that leads to an arrest.  If the tip that leads to an arrest is received by midnight of today’s press conference, $1,000 will be added to the reward raising the total to $8,500.

Police did have one person in custody at one point, but had to release him. Investigators hope even the smallest piece of information could help break this case.

In October, the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms announced a $10,000 reward for an arrest and conviction in Brueger's murder.
