Kelly Stafford, wife of Detroit Lions starting quarterback Matthew Stafford, announced in an Instagram post Sunday that she gave birth to twin girls on March 31.

"First night out as a mom and a dad! 

Our babies were born March 31st and are healthy and happy! Thanks for all the well wishes!"

The couple announced their pregnancy in October. 

Matthew Stafford, 28, is in his eighth year with the Lions.
