2-year-old girl hit in head by brick thrown through car window in Detroit

Girl taken to hospital in critical condition

DETROIT – A 2-year-old girl was seriously injured Wednesday when a man threw a brick through a car window and hit her in the head, Detroit police said.

Police said a man ran out in front of the car at 10:10 p.m. Wednesday at the I-75 Service Drive and E. Warren Avenue. He then ran back to the sidewalk, picked up a brick and threw it at the car, police said.

The brick crashed through the rear passenger window and hit the 2-year-old girl in the head, police said.

She was taken to Children's Hospital in critical condition.

Police are searching for a skinny 17- to 21-year-old man. He was wearing a red hooded shirt and white pants.
