DETROIT – Police have arrested a person of interest in the fatal shooting of a mother during a domestic dispute in Detroit.
Earl Thomas-Lionel Maxwell, 38, was wanted in connection with the shooting Sunday night of a 42-year-old woman inside her home in the 20000 block of  near 8 Mile Road and Southfield Freeway. Her 14-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter were in the home.

Detroit police said the teen heard arguing and then gunshots.Â
Maxwell was named a person of interest on Monday when police released his photo. He was taken into custody Tuesday morning, police said. No charges have been announced.Â
Neighbors said they rushed inside to try and help the woman, who was shot multiple times.Â
The teen told police he saw a man running from the home moments after his mother was killed. He reported seeing a black man leaving the home and driving off in a dark-colored vehicle.
Maxwell is described as black, 5 feet 8 inches tall and has a heavy build. He is bald, has a beard and his teeth are stained yellow. Police said he frequently wears sunglasses and has a tattoo of the word "Latrese" written on his arm.
