DETROIT

Two men have been charged with felonious assault with a firearm after a Facebook video posted in June showed one of the men shooting a paintball gun at Detroit road workers, police said.

Police said they were able to identify the driver, 22-year-old Rashon Dewayne Perkins, who was already in jail for another charge. He identified the shooter as 24-year-old George Hefflon Morgan.

The men weren’t facing charges initially because the road crew never made a complaint, but after seeing Local 4’s report about the shooting, they came forward.

Both men in the car bragged about the paintball shooting and the driver's marijuana. There was a baby girl in the backseat.

"It's more than a bit annoying that he was brazen enough to think that it was OK to commit this crime, and then he felt that he could do so with impunity and post it on the internet for everybody to see," Detroit Police Cmdr. Nick Kyriacou said.
