Detroit officer faces claims of police brutality during disorderly conduct arrest

Video shows officer arrested man at Meijer store

DETROIT – A Detroit police officer faces police brutality claims after video captured a rough arrest at a Meijer store in Detroit.

In one video, a Detroit police officer is shown using a baton to gain control of a suspect -- watch here: 

Authorities said the officer at the Meijer store at Woodward Avenue and Eight Mile Road made an arrest for disorderly conduct.

In another video shot by the suspect’s girlfriend (watch below), the officer says he arrested the man for his use of profanity.

“I tried to get him to shut up,” the officer says in the video.

No other information was immediately made available.
