DETROIT – Police are searching for two women in connection with the fatal shooting of an employee at an auto parts store in Detroit.
The homicide investigation is underway at the O'Reilly Auto Parts store on Schaefer Highway in northwest Detroit, police said.
Police said two young women walked into the store and walked around before going behind the counter. Surveillance video shows them taking the money and running out.
You can watch the surveillance footage in the video posted above.
As they were leaving, one of the women shot the 75-year-old manager in the head. He died from the gunshot wound.
"There was no reason to shoot this gentleman," Detroit police Capt. Darin Szilagy said. "Absolutely none. So it's especially heinous. It sickens us, and we're asking the public to help bring some resolution and some justice for this family. This man was murdered in cold blood for no reason."
Police are asking the public to look out for a maroon SUV with a broken rear passenger window. It's possibly covered in plastic and has a cracked windshield, police said.
No description of the women was released.
